Fireplaces and chimneys

A chimney is the tallest thing you will ask us to build.

An outdoor chimney carries its own weight fifteen or twenty feet into the air, in wind, on ground that moves. It needs a footing sized for it, a firebox built to draw, a flue sized to carry the smoke clear, and a cap that keeps the weather out of the whole assembly. None of that is visible in a photograph, and all of it is why some chimneys are still plumb in thirty years.

What you get

There is a lit one in the pavilion.

At 2010 Chapin Rd we keep a covered slab gallery and an outdoor pavilion. The pavilion has a full stone fireplace in it, so you can stand in front of a finished one before you decide.

One crew, stone to finish. Footing, firebox, flue, face and hearth by the same people. One contract and one point of contact. If something needs to be made right, it is us.
