Fireplaces
The wall the room is built around.
Full-height stone, hearths, mantels and slab faces.

Fireplace surrounds
A chimney breast is masonry, not decoration.
Inside, a fireplace is the one wall nobody stops looking at. It is also structure: a firebox, a flue, a hearth that has to carry weight, and a face that has to sit flat and plumb from the floor to a ceiling that is rarely square. We build the whole assembly rather than veneering someone else’s.
Rounded fieldstone, stacked ledgestone, cut ashlar, or a single book-matched slab run floor to ceiling in granite, quartz, marble or quartzite. Cast and stone hearths, reclaimed timber mantels, stone mantel shelves, and returns cut to meet built-ins cleanly.

What you get
Stand in front of a finished one.
Our showroom at 2010 Chapin Rd has a covered slab gallery and an outdoor pavilion, and the pavilion has a full stone fireplace in it. You can stand in front of the stone, at the height it will actually sit, before you choose.
One crew, stone to finish. Firebox, flue, face and hearth by the same people. One contract and one point of contact, with no gap between trades for a problem to sit in.

“The number we quote is the number you pay. No allowances, no surprise change orders. The only thing that moves it is a change you ask for, and we tell you before anything is cut.”
